Construction work on Viking Line’s new passenger vessel NB 1376 is notably progressing at the STX Finland shipyard in Turku. The section 630 of this 214 m inspiring and exciting newbuild is currently being assembled.

Delivery of the ice class 1 A Super vessel is expected in January 2013, and she will be the most expensive ferry ever ordered with an unit price of 240 million Euro (approx USD 318.3 million).

NB 1376 represents a completely new generation of ferries and will offer innovative, alluring and exciting experiences to 2,800 passengers. The newbuild concept incorporates environmentally friendly solutions, such as LNG and electrical propulsion, thus she will be able to comply with the 2015 Baltic regulation on gas emissions.

After completion, the new Viking Line cruise ferry (NB 1376) is considered to be the most environmentally friendly cruise ferry ever built. The 214-meter long cruise ferry is scheduled for delivery in the beginning of 2013. For the Turku Shipyards, the construction will bring approximately 2,600 many-years of labour.

The keel laying ceremony was held on September 28, 2O11.
