In keeping with this philosophy of constantly rejuvenating the fleet, Company’s principals signed a contract on 16th April 2010 for one more Kamsarmax vessel of 80,500 deadweight to be built by STX Korea and to be named Darya Kirthi.

Furthermore another contract for a pair of 37,000 deadweight was signed by Chellship’s principals on 8th July 2010. These Handy size vessels are to be built by Hyundai MIPO Dockyard Co. Ltd. At their yard in Korea.

These vessels are built to the highest specifications, in compliance with the latest environmental regulations and with due attention to the vessel’s environmental footprint. They are scheduled for delivery in 2012.

The Keel laying of the Darya Kirthi was carried out on the 25th October in the presence of the New Building Team, shipyard personnel and a Classification Society representative.
