Super Pumas Fly Again. Black Box Found. Workforce Confidence Shattered

According to Unite, a UK-based trade union, confidence among the workforce in the Super Puma types – which make up 50 per cent of the UK offshore industry’s 75 serving helicopters – has been shattered by the fifth ditching in four years, resulting in a total of 20 fatalities.

 

KS Drilling Orders Jack-Up Drilling Rig in China

China’s Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd (ZPMC) has signed an offshore drilling rig construction contract with KS Drilling, a subsidiary of KS Energy from Singapore.

Petrofac has been awarded two contracts, to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services and Duty Holder Support Services to operator EnQuest plc on the Heather, Thistle, Northern Producer and EnQuest Producer assets in the North Sea.

Brazil’s OSX group has announced that the FPSO OSX-3 has entered Brazilian waters. The unit started its voyage on July 15 in Singapore, and completed its journey before the planned schedule.

 

Murphy Oil to Release Azurite FDPSO Early (Congo)

Murphy Oil has informed BW Offshore that the Azurite FDPSO unit, moored offshore Congo, may end production prior to the end of the firm contract, due to low production volumes from the Azurite field.

Statoil Makes 3rd Oil Discovery in Flemish Pass Basin (Canada)

Statoil has made a third discovery of crude oil in the Flemish Pass Basin, offshore Newfoundland. The discovery was made on the Bay du Nord prospect (EL1112), located approximately 500 kilometres northeast of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
