The fastest growing offshore event in Europe

The fastest growing offshore event in Europe

The Prospector Magazine will be exhibiting at Offshore Energy 2014, taking place in Amsterdam on October 28th & 29th.

This marks the 7th annual edition of Offshore Energy and will see over 10,000 industry professionals and 600 supply chain companies, showcasing their products and services, come together for the fastest growing gathering of offshore industry professionals.

Since the first edition in 2008, Offshore Energy has been breaking records year after year, with last year’s edition attracting over 9,000 visitors from 56 different nationalities. This year is set to be bigger and better than ever before and the two day exhibition provides those in the industry with the perfect opportunity to meet new customers and partners, as well as strengthening existing clients relationships and exploring best practices.

Exhibition Manager, Annemieke den Otter says of the exhibition “For the first time in our existence we expect to exceed over 10,000 visitors” adding “This year will be our fourth year at Amsterdam RAI, following our move from Den Helder, as the event has continued to gain more international recognition.” She reflects “The first year (in Amsterdam, 2011), we had only 6,000 sq m in one hall. Last year we moved to three halls, with over 15,000 sq m, and this year we have an extra 6,000 sq m, taking us up to 21,000 sq m” also encouragingly adding that “We see more and more interest from abroad”.

The Prospector will be exhibiting at Offshore Energy 2014 and will be found on both days in Hall 8 booth 8.000L, as well as part of the exhibitions’ promotional material as a media partner.

As well as the two day exhibition Offshore Energy features an extensive conference programme which offers a unique platform for discussing key topics and solutions for the offshore community. Also running over two days, the conference is made up of a programme packed with C-level panels, technical sessions, masterclasses and meetings of industry organisations. The entire upstream value chain will be represented by both speakers and delegates from all levels of the industry.

It will bring together an international faculty of peers and industry influencers enabling them to share knowledge, discuss topical developments, ideas and network. This year’s theme title, The Future is in the Water, has shaped the technical sessions covering topics titled North Sea E&P: New game on an old playing field, Extending asset life: Offshore maintenance services, Subsea processing, Regulations for ‘industrial personnel’ on board offshore service vessels, Offshore vessels: Market update, Developments in wave and tidal energy, Well plugging and abandonment and Mexican petroleum industry reforms.

Conference Manager, Femke Perlot-Hoogeveen describes how “For the past three years, we have had a decommissioning programme but we are skipping that this year, focusing on well plugging and abandonment instead” adding “This is the first time Offshore Energy has included a session on subsea processing.”

There will also be three high calibre C-level panels with captains of industry addressing strategic challenges with an industry panel discussing issues affecting the industry as a whole and the Drilling & Dollars Panel bringing together oil & gas financials. The third panel, the Human Capital Panel, will investigate one of the biggest challenges of our time: how to deal with the big crew change and Femke Perlot-Hoogeveen highlights how “You can’t have any discussion about the oil and gas industry or the offshore maritime industry without talking about the future workforce.”

A set of masterclasses will then bring together young talent with the masters of the offshore oil, gas and energy industry for an informal exchange of ideas and experiences, both technical and non-technical.

The two day event provides an invaluable networking opportunity and the chance to meet with some of the leading players in the industry.

Offshore Energy is a fantastic platform for promoting your businesses’ global presence and whether you’re looking to do business in Europe, looking for European partners or want to meet the best of the best then Offshore Energy 2014 is set to continue the edition’s track record for success.
