Rampion Gives Back

Business & Finance

Rampion and the Sussex Community Foundation has announced that the second round of grants has been distributed from the GBP 3.1 million community fund set up by the Rampion offshore wind farm last autumn.

19 community groups are to receive a total of GBP 230,249 from Rampion Fund second round.

The Rampion Fund is designed to help fund local projects, particularly those with links to the environment and ecology, climate change and energy, as well as those that work to improve community facilities, with some consideration for energy generation and use.

The deadline for the next round of applications to the Rampion Fund is 14 September 2018. Grants of between GBP 1,000 and GBP 10,000 are available, with higher grants up to GBP 50,000 for larger capital projects subject to matched funding.

The Rampion wind farm is being built 13 kilometres off the Sussex coast by E.ON, Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge and a consortium comprising of the Green Investment Group, Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5 and the Universities Superannuation Scheme. The 400MW project is due to be completed later this year.
