PCF bags further funding for Welsh marine supply chain

Business & Finance

Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF) has received funding from the Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) to support the development of its Welsh marine energy supply chain project.

The project, led by PCF, aims to help local companies understand the opportunities presented by the marine energy sector.

It will assess the supply chain capabilities of Pembrokeshire-based companies with the potential to diversify into the marine energy industry.

The project will also provide stakeholder engagement and ‘Meet the Buyer’ opportunities, with the first stakeholder event set for September 14, 2017, according to PCF, the company behind projects such as Marine Energy Wales and Marine Energy Pembrokeshire.

The goal of the project is to provide local supply chain companies with long term economic and environmental sustainability.

The funding matches that awarded by Leader program, which provided a little over £40,000 for the project in May 2017.

The Sustainable Development Fund, administered by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, supports projects that provide long term social, environmental, economic and cultural benefits for Pembrokeshire people and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
