P-66: First of eight ‘cloned’ FPSO hulls gets out of dry-dock

The hull of the P-66 floating production storage & offloading unit has left a shipyard in Brazil.

The unit, which will, once outfitted, be operated by the Brazilian national oil company Petrobras in the Santos Basin, offshore Rio de Janeiro, left the Rio Grande do Sul shipyard on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Singapore’s Keppel will deliver the topside modules for the unit, which is expected to begin production at the Guara offshore field next year.

The FPSO is the first of eight replicant FPSOs to be built for the development of the pre-salt projects in the prolific Santos basin. The vessel will have a processing capacity of 150,000 bpd of oil and 6 million m³/day of natural gas.
