Natural Power names offshore chief

Business & Finance

Renewable energy consultancy Natural Power has appointed Nancy McLean as Head of Offshore to lead its offshore business and explore new opportunities both within the UK and internationally.

McLean previously held the role of Principal Environmental Consultant in Natural Power’s Planning and Environment department and in her new position she will report direct to Pieter D’haen, Commercial Director.

She joined Natural Power in 2003 and has been specializing in offshore renewables for the last eight years.

McLean has been working closely with a number of offshore developers in the successful delivery of consent management services, and has a comprehensive understanding of the consenting, engineering, CAPEX and OPEX cost considerations in the delivery of offshore projects, according to Natural Power.

Nancy McLean said: “Offshore is entering a new phase now – the recent CfD rounds have shown that offshore wind is cost competitive in Europe. As these projects are built out and the assets come out of warranty across the European market, there will be significant opportunities to develop an asset management service.

“These opportunities are already developing for offshore sites within a European context, and Natural Power will continue to build upon its competency and capability to operate in this space.”
