Granada Material Handling Nets New Galloper Contract

Operations & Maintenance

Galloper Wind Farm Limited Ltd has awarded a contract to Granada Material Handling Ltd for service and maintenance of all 58 davit crane units installed on the 353MW project, 56 on wind turbine foundations and two on the offshore substation.

This is in accordance with current legislation and Granada’s original equipment supplier requirements, the company said. The latest contract follows the one signed for the delivery of its Python cranes for the project in 2016.

Under the maintenance deal, Granada will ensure its technicians are on site for service visits twice a year.

Each of the Python crane units has been specifically designed for the Galloper offshore wind farm and the challenging marine environment in which it operates, according to the supplier.

Mark Sidwell, director of Granada Material Handling Ltd, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious UK wind farm Service and Maintenance project. Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada Renewable product and service division.”

Granada was also recently contracted by Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited (BOWL) to ensure all 84 davit crane units installed on the project are commissioned in accordance with all the requirements.
