The company took delivery of the 91,000 cbm carrier, Avance Avior, on 30 May from South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean, which recently rebranded from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

Avance Avior was launched on 13 December as the fourth VLGC in a series of six new ships being built by the South Korean shipbuilder.

The third vessel, Avance Rigel, was delivered in February this year while the remaining two dual-fuel VLGCs are scheduled for delivery by 2024.

The newbuild is capable of running on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and like its sister vessels, it is intended to be prepared for ammonia as fuel as Avance Gas looks to position itself for a zero-carbon fuel solution as soon as the technology is ready and feasible.

The delivery of Avance Avior was revealed along with the company’s report of the first quarter results for 2023, in which it presented a net profit of $36.3 million or earnings per share of $0.47, the strongest net profit for the first quarter ever, according to Avance Gas.
