Dry-Cargo Vessel of Project RSD49 Ready for Float Out

On June 23, 2012 the second in the series of 10 self-propelled dry-cargo RSD49-type vessels, yard number 402 was placed into the building berth at “Nevsky Shipyard”. The vessels are being built for “North -Western Shipping Company”, JSC. The project is developed by «Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb», JSC.

The launching of Yard number 402 will take place on June 26th 2012 at “Nevsky Shipyard”, LLC.

Vessels of the series can be operated for transportation of general and bulk cargoes, timber, grain, large-sized cargoes and hazardous cargoes of classes 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 of IMDG Code and the Appendix B of the BC Code in the Caspian Sea as well as in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, White Sea, Baltic Sea, North Sea including routes around Europe and on the Irish Sea in winter.

The vessels are being built according to the rules and under the survey of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) on Ship’s class – КМ Iсе2 R2 AUT1-C.

Nevsky Shipyard, which is a part of transport holding Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, is located 40 km away from Saint-Petersburg in the town of Schliesselburg on the left bank of the river Neva. The shipyard is one of the oldest enterprises of water transport in the northwest of Russia which started its shipbuilding activity since 1952. Nowadays the shipyard builds sea and river vessels of various types and purposes and carries out ship repair works of all kinds. Slipway for rising of vessels at Nevsky Shipyard allows the shipyard to launch and lift the vessels up to 140 m long and dock weight up to 2500 tons.
