Argentina’s Escobar import terminal, located on the Paraná River, about 30 miles outside Buenos Aires City, is scheduled to receive a shipment of LNG from Trinidad and Tobago, according to shipping data.

The cargo is being carried by the Iberica Knutsen, with a capacity of 130,000 cubic metres, and it is due to arrive at the Escobar terminal on August 11, the data shows.

Along with providing increased peak capacity for the high-demand winter months, the Escobar facility delivers additional natural gas supply and transport capacity to the Buenos Aires region.

The LNG import facility, which was jointly developed by YPF, Enarsa and Excelerate Energy, has the capacity to handle 500 million cubic feet of LNG per day and a peak capacity of 600 mcf.
