Ørsted Sets Date for Hornsea Two Supply Chain Event

Business & Finance

Ørsted is holding a supply chain event for the Hornsea Project Two offshore wind project in the UK North Sea.

The event will take place on 14 November at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

The Danish company said it wants to bring potential suppliers from across the UK together to meet its team and Tier 1 suppliers to understand the 1.4GW project and the opportunities it offers.

Hornsea Project Two will be located 89km off the Yorkshire Coast and will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines. The units will be mounted on monopile foundations produced by EEW Special Pipe Constructions (SPC).

The project won a Contract for Difference in September 2017 and will be built at the lowest ever price for offshore wind seen in the UK.

Once fully operational in 2022, it will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
