Qatargas Presenting Its JBOG Project at Qatar Sustainability Expo

Qatargas is showcasing its environmental initiatives at the Qatar Sustainability Expo which is running in conjunction with COP18, the UN Climate Change Conference, in Doha between 26th November and 7th December at the Doha Exhibition Center.

Qatargas is showcasing a model of its $1bn Jetty Boil-Off Gas (JBOG) Recovery Project to illustrate this significant project which, when completed in 2014, will reduce flaring during the ship loading process. This will save enough LNG per year to power more than 300,000 homes.

Alongside the model a poster will highlight Qatargas’ four main environmental focus points of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Management Program, Wastewater Management Strategy, Flare Reduction Program and the JBOG Project. The poster highlights the key improvements being made by Qatargas to help set the standard for environmental performance.

The event will also see the first viewing of Qatargas’ films highlighting its environmental performance as well as offer an overview of the JBOG Project. The films contain explanations of how Qatargas’ projects are making a significant impact in protecting the environment under the theme “Because our Environment Matters.”

In addition Qatargas will be making presentations at the theatre area of the Qatar Sustainability Expo during the period of the event. The topics will focus greenhouse gas management and flare management.
