Pacific Orca Gets to Work for Siemens Gamesa

Operations & Maintenance

Swire Blue Ocean has completed the first operations under a recently signed offshore maintenance and service agreement with Siemens Gamesa.

As previously reported, Siemens Gamesa and SBO signed a long-term charter agreement for the jack-up vessel Pacific Orca. The charter has been running since June 2019 and will end in February 2021.

The agreement covers wind farms located in the North, Baltic and Irish Seas.

Mobilisation of the Pacific Orca started on 24 June and was followed by the first operations on the Meerwind Süd/Ost offshore wind farm off the north-western coast of Germany, and the Galloper offshore wind farm off the south-eastern coast of England.

Visits to the Sandbank offshore wind farm in the German North Sea and three other wind farms are already scheduled, with many additional sites following, according to SBO.
