The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, announces that dredge CURRITUCK, based out of the Corps’ Wilmington District in North Carolina, is slated to arrive in Ocean City tomorrow, Friday July 15, to conduct maintenance dredging in Ocean City Inlet over the coming days.

Dredge CURRITUCK will arrive in Ocean City Friday afternoon/evening and is expected to begin dredging in the inlet starting Saturday, July 16.

The dredging work in the inlet will continue through Thursday, July 21.

This dredging will focus specifically on the authorized navigation channel and crews are expected to remove roughly 7,500 to 8,000 cubic yards of material.

This maintenance work should help improve navigation conditions in the federal channel.

Dredge CURRITUCK is the same dredge that conducted emergency dredging in the inlet in March after the late January winter storm. During the visit, crews successfully removed roughly 13,500 cubic yards of material from the inlet.
