Brokers: ICBC Leasing In for Up to 8 Bulkers at Zhoushan Changhong

China’s Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard has reportedly won orders for up to eight Ultramax bulkers from ICBC Leasing, data from Asiasis shows.

The order is said to be split to four firm and four optional newbuilds. The delivery is spread between 2019 and 2020. The Chinese leasing company is estimated to be paying around USD 24 million per ship.

Zhoushan Changhong currently has two bulkers under construction, according to the data from VesselsValue.

The Ultramax pair, featuring 64,000 dwt each, is being built for Singapore’s New Yangtze Navigation. The two newbuilds, valued at USD 21.17 million respectively, are set for delivery in 2019.
