Wind Ambition Lives Up to Her Name

Operations & Maintenance

The floating hotel Wind Ambition has set off on a new campaign to provide accommodation for crews working on four offshore wind farms in the German North Sea, C-bed, the owner and operator of the vessel said without specifying which farms the crews will be servicing.

The project commenced in April 2016 and with more than 200 wind turbines up for maintenance, the project is scheduled to last for several months, C-bed said.

Wind Ambition provides accommodation for a total of 137 persons in single cabins, along with workshop, storage, and office facilities.

C-bed will be using both Emden in Germany and Esbjerg in Denmark as base ports for crew change and loading of fresh supplies.

Offshore technicians have been completing the daily transfers from Wind Ambition to their workplaces via crew transfer vessels (CTVs). The CTV crews are also staying on-board Wind Ambition throughout the project period.
