French LNG containment specialist GTT has secured a new order from its partner the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the tank design of two new liquefied natural gas carriers (LNGCs), on behalf of an Asian ship-owner.

GTT will design the tanks of the two vessels, which will each offer a total cargo capacity of 174,000 m3 and will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system, developed by GTT.

According to GTT, the delivery of the two vessels is scheduled between the second and third quarters of 2026.

To note, GTT has secured several tank design orders from SHI this year.

Among others, it received an order for the tank design of a new floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit as well as an order for the tank design of two new LNGCs.
