The Ocean Power Innovation Network ( OPIN ) project and Marine Energy Alliance ( MEA ) are staging a webinar on standardisation and certification for offshore renewables.
The event will be held on 19 May 2020 from 10 to 11:30 am CEST.
Standards and associated certification schemes can support the development of offshore renewable energy (ORE) technologies, by reducing the risk of failure and increasing stakeholders confidence.
This webinar will provide an overview of the benefits from standardisation and certification, progress on the codes and standards to date, and lessons learnt from ORE stakeholders who went through the certification process.
The webinar will include speakers from Bureau Veritas, DMEC, Akrocean and WEAMEC.
Bureau Veritas will outline the certification process for ORE technologies.
DMEC will highlight application of IEC standardisation and certification schemes to your technology. DMEC will also reflect on how they applied it within Marine Energy Alliance (MEA).
Akrocean will provide a feedback on floating LiDAR certification.
WEAMEC will show the opportunities available within the OPIN to develop further collaborations on standardisation/certification after the webinar.
Specifically, this webinar is co-organized by WEAMEC and DMEC, as part of the OPIN and MEA projects.
Both projects get financial support from Interreg North West Europe.
Also, Webinar attendance is free .
