Greece-based shipping company Sun Enterprises has placed an order for two Aframax tankers at South Korean Daehan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (DHSC).

The company will pay over USD 50 million per unit, according to data provided by Asiasis.

The contract reportedly includes two identical options as well.

As informed, the 115,000 dwt newbuilds are scheduled for delivery before the fourth quarter of 2021.

World Maritime News contacted Sun Enterprises for more details on the matter, however, the company is yet to reply.

Sun Enterprises also has two MR2 tankers and one very large crude carrier (VLCC) under construction at Asian shipyards. The two 50,168 dwt vessels are being built at Korean Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, while the 301,000 dwt VLCC is being constructed at Japan Marine United yard. All three tankers are expected to be delivered in 2020.

The company currently operates a fleet of fifteen tankers comprising VLCC, Suezmax, Post-Panamax and MR ships.
