Japan’s LNG importing giant Jera stated last week that the 4,000th vessel arrived at Chita LNG terminal in Chita City.
Jera said that the Senshu Maru LNG carrier, which arrived from Indonesia, was the 4,000 vessel to arrive at the terminal – utilized in tandem with Toho Gas.
The terminal received its first LNG vessel in September 1977. Through the following 42 years, it has been operated without any accidents or incidents in receiving LNG vessels.
The total quantity of LNG unloaded at the terminal has reached approximately 236 million tons.
It is worth noting that the Chita LNG terminal is a facility for receiving, storing, and vaporizing imported LNG consisting of three terminals: the Chita LNG Joint Terminal, Chita LNG Terminal of Chita LNG, and Chita Midorihama Works of Toho Gas.
