The 24,900 dwt newbuilding is the first in a series of five ships Algoma ordered from Uljanik Group.

The Handysize bulker features a length of 198 meters, a width of 23 meters and a gross tonnage of 16,000 tons. It is intended for service on the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River.
