Talisman gets go-ahead for Snømus drilling

Talisman Energy Norge AS has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway for exploration drilling of well 15/12-24, in the North Sea. Talisman is the operator for production licence 672 in block 15/12 in the central North Sea. According to the PSA, the company is to drill well

Talisman Energy Norge AS has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway for exploration drilling of well 15/12-24, in the North Sea.

Talisman is the operator for production licence 672 in block 15/12 in the central North Sea.

According to the PSA, the company is to drill well 15/12-24 in a prospect named Snømus, to investigate the find’s potential.

The well will be drilled by a jack-up drilling rig Mærsk Giant. It is owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group. It was built in Japan by Hitachi and completed in 1986.

Mærsk Giant can operate in water depths of up to 107 metres and accommodates 87 people.
