Singapore-based Hoidi International, an offshore engineering & construction company and jack-up leg specialist, has been awarded a rig leg fabrication and construction contract by China Merchant Heavy Industry, for the Vanda offshore CJ50 400ft jack-up.

The scope of work for the contract includes fabrication, installation, erection and construction of a complete set of legs for the Vanda Offshore Gusto MSC CJ 50-X120-E jack-up rig. This is a high specification rig that can operate in depths of 400ft and it was made with hook load of 2,000,000 Kips.

The rig is scheduled to be delivered in Q1 of 2016. The legs will be made of a special grade steel that can sustain temperatures of -20°C making it suitable for usage in harsh environment of the North Sea.

Vanda Offshore’s CJ50 400ft jack-up rig marks the 4th CJ50 leg construction contract won by the HOIDI Group this year, and the 17th jack-up construction offshore engineering contract since 2013.

Apart from this new contract, Hoidi recently won another one to supply legs for four jack-up drilling rigs being built for Bestford Offshore by China Merchant Heavy Industries.
