ZTT to supply cables for 850 MW Chinese offshore wind project

Business & Finance

ZTT Submarine Cable & System has won two engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contracts for the Guoxin Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project in China.

Under the submarine cable EPCI contracts, China’s ZTT will supply 243 kilometers of 35 kV inter-array cables and 185 kilometers of 220 kV export cables to the 850 MW offshore wind project.

Additionally, the company will deliver end-to-end services, including design, engineering, manufacturing, transportation, installation, operation, and termination.

“This project exemplifies ZTT’s steadfast dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. By mitigating pollution from hydraulic ash discharge wastewater and warm drainage, the project significantly reduces harm to the marine environment and preserves fragile ecosystems,” said ZTT in a recent social media post.

Located in the offshore waters of Dafeng District, Yancheng City, the Guoxin Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project is approximately 33 kilometers from the coastline.

The project spans four wind farm zones: Dafeng H1 (200 MW), Dafeng H2 (300 MW), Dafeng H10 (150 MW), Dafeng H16 (200 MW).

The Guoxin Dafeng Offshore Wind Power Project is planned to feature 99 turbines with a single unit capacity of 8.5 MW and one offshore test model with a single unit capacity of 13 MW or above.

The 850 MW wind project is expected to be connected to the national grid in June 2025.
