Zeebrugge set for Qatari LNG cargo

Qatar, the world’s largest LNG exporter, dispatched a cargo of the chilled gas from Ras Laffan to Belgium on Thursday.

The Al Thakhira LNG tanker, with a capacity of 145,702 cbm, is expected to arrive at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal on May 25, according to port data.

Qatar started exporting LNG in 1997. The country celebrated achieving record 77 Mtpa of LNG production capacity in December of 2010, reconfirming the country’s position as the world’s leading producer of LNG.
