The first batch of transition pieces will be loaded out on a barge by wpd in early August from CTCI MAC’s Ta-Lin Shop in Kaohsiung to the offshore site for installation.

According to the company, the rest will be delivered in batches throughout this year.

Yunlin will feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines installed some 8km offshore and scheduled to come online in 2021.

CTCI MAC is delivering 40 transition pieces for the 640 MW wind farm, with Smulders delivering the other half.

The project is 73% owned by wpd and 27% owned by a Sojitz Corp-led consortium which includes Chugoku Electric Power, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power, and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.
