Monaco-based LNG shipper GasLog is to add a 174,000-cbm newbuild liquefied natural gas carrier with XDF propulsion to its growing fleet of vessels.

The vessel known as HN2130 will soon be officially named the Gaslog Genoa at the South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries.

The LNG carrier is now undertaking sea trials off South Korea and will go directly on long-term charter to the Hague-based LNG giant Shell following delivery, GasLog said on Friday via its social media channels.

According to GasLog, the vessel has a low boil-off rate of 0.085% and is equipped with an onboard reliquefaction plant.

The vessel data provided by VesselsValue shows that the LNG tanker is currently worth at around $191 million.

GasLog’s fleet consists of 27 LNG carriers with 22 vessels on the water and 5 on order, according to the shipping company’s website.
