Workshop ‘Cost Management in Shipbuilding’

Business & Finance

Intensifying competition in the shipbuilding industry leads to enormous cost pressure. As the main part of costs is fixed at the start of production, cost management in the early shipbuilding phases is especially effective. In light of this, the Workshop “Cost Management in Shipbuilding” will offer the opportunity to learn about methods and systems supporting cost planning, cost analyzing and cost reduction in the process of naval engineering.

The event will be held from June 30 to September 7, 2011 in several European and North American venues.*

Topic highlights of the workshop are:

– Cost prognosis based on similarity calculation and regression analysis

– Risk analysis of cost estimations

– Target Costing: Analysis of product functions and customer requirements

– Methods of Life Cycle Cost calculation and addressing uncertainty of in-service parameters

– Software support by the costfact system
