Wisom Marine Adds Bulker, Eyes Funds for More Ships

Taiwanese shipping company Wisdom Marine Lines has received an approval to purchase a 38,000 dwt bulk carrier as the company seeks further fleet expansion.

Wisdom Marine said that it is paying a price of USD 23.5 million for the unit, to be paid in installments until the delivery.

The company did not unveil any details related to the ship in question, nor the name of the seller.

In a separate announcement, Wisdom Marine Group said that the Board of Directors approved the company’s capital injection into Wisdom Marine Lines, a 100% owned subsidiary of the group.

Wisdom Marine Lines is looking to sell 38,600 common shares at a price of USD 1,000 per unit, as it aims to raise USD 38.6 million.

The net proceeds would be used for acquisition of new vessels, according to the company.
