Waves4Power teams up with Stryvo

Business & Finance

Sweden-based wave energy company Waves4Power has partnered up with Norwegian engineering firm Stryvo to further advance its WaveEL wave energy system.

The two companies will cooperate on the development of design and manufacturing processes for Waves4Power’s proprietary WaveEL system, Waves4Power informed.

Waves4Power deployed a WaveEL unit at Runde wave energy test site off Norway back in February.

The aims of Runde deployment are to demonstrate survivability, energy production and to give potential customers an opportunity to evaluate the system performance in a challenging wave climate.

The company said it had no plans of expanding the Runde test site with additional buoys, but was looking at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney where it has plans to deploy an array of wave energy devices.

Stryvo, based in Stryn, Norway, is offering design, manufacturing, testing, installation and documentation services related to metal processing.
