Wan Hai Boosts China-Vietnam-Thailand Links

Taiwan’s shipping company Wan Hai Lines revealed plans to expand the service network on China-Vietnam-Thailand corridors in July by restructuring China-Vietnam-Thailand (CVT service).

The company also intends to cooperate with COSCO Container Lines on a new joint N.PRC-Thailand service (CT1) and secure slots on COSCO’s E.PRC-Thailand service.

According to Wan Hai, the move comes in an effort “to provide more comprehensive service coverage”.

With effect from July 10, 2017, Wan Hai’s CVT service will be restructured and turned into a China-Vietnam service (CV1 service), with three vessels of 1,200 TEU intakes.

Port rotation of the CV1 service will be as follows: Shanghai – Qingdao – Xiamen – Hong Kong – Shekou – Da Nang – Hochiminh – Shekou – Shanghai.

Furthermore, the new joint service with COSCO, to be named CT1 by Wan Hai, will deploy three vessels with intake of 2,100 TEU. The service will commence from Dalian port on July 14, 2017, and will have the following rotation: Dalian – Tianjin – Qingdao – Hong Kong – Shekou – Leam Chabang – Hong Kong – Dalian.

Other two services, to be named CTV and CT2, will start in mid-July 2017.

The two services will have the following port rotations:

CTV：Shanghai – Ningbo – Shantou – Hong Kong – Nansha – Laem Chabang – Bangkok – Hochiminh – Hong Kong – Shanghai.

CT2：Laem Chabang – Nansha – Qingdao – Shanghai.
