Visakha Container Terminal Inaugurates Next Phase of Expansion (India)

Last month, the phase 3 of the Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) expansion project was officially inaugurated.

According to the Exim India, the newly procured two post-Panamax quay cranes and the four rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs) were inaugurated and christened on that day (September 21).

The Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) was set up under the aegis of Visakhapatnam Port Trust as a joint venture between DP World and United Liner Agencies of India (Private) Ltd and commenced operations on June 26, 2003.

Located on the center of the East Coast of India, VCT is ideally located to cater to its vast hinterland.

The inauguration ceremony was well attended by eminent personalities from the shipping and trade fraternity.
