Video: Teekay’s Tangguh Hiri LNG carrier undergoes drydocking

Teekay LNG’s 2008-built LNG carrier Tangguh Hiri has undergone a 17-day makeover when it went in for drydocking in Singapore. 

According to the company’s brief statement, the LNG tanker with the capacity to transport 151,885 cubic meters of the chilled fuel was inspected, repaired, upgraded and tested before sailing out for another five years of service until the next inspection.

In March this year, the vessel hit a milestone of seven years in operation without a lost time injury (LTI).

Teekay said that during the drydocking, the scope of work included cleaning, blasting, painting, anchor replacement, shaft inspection, propeller cleaning and testing, lifeboat inspection and testing, cargo tank inspection and testing, pump overhauls, main engine inspection, sea chest inspection and bridge upgrades.

The marine data provider VesselsValue shows the tanker built by Hyundai Heavy Industries visited the Sembcorp Marine’s Sembawang Shipyard during May.
