Operations & Maintenance

Take a look at the video showcasing the deployment operation of Sabella’s D10 tidal turbine.

Sabella’s 1 MW D10 tidal turbine has been depoloyed and grid-connected earlier this year.

It is located in Fromveur Passage, off France, and is delivering power to the Ushant island.

Combi Lift’s cargo ship Palembang was used to install the turbine, while Bourbon’s Argonaut tugboat, provided by the French Navy, was used to connect the cable jumper with the export cable.

Sabella was also assited by Blue Water Shipping which provided range of services required for the turbine installation.

The 1 MW turbine started delivering power to the grid on November 5, 2015, and is currently producing limited amounts of power. Sabella stated that the power generation would eventually be increased.
