Viasea Shipping to Connect Rotterdam and Oslo

Business & Finance

The newly established Norwegian company Viasea Shipping AS is planning to launch a container line between Rotterdam and the Oslofjord starting from November 2016.

Under the company’s short sea service, the first departure will be undertaken on November 4 from Rotterdam, with arrival in Oslo on November 7.

The ship which will be deployed in the service will call ports with dedicated short sea terminals to avoid massive and congested deep sea terminals, Viasea said.

The Moss-based container transporter operates in Europe offering services to freight forwarders, tank operators, importers and exporters.

With a subsidiary in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, the company said that its main markets will be Norway and the BeNeLux, while other focus areas will be Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany, North of France, as well as England.
