Vestdavit PLA-2000 Davits for USCG’s Ice Breaking Tugs

Vestdavit has won its first ever contract with the US Coast Guard. After an extensive tender process with many contenders, Vestdavit was chosen to supply nine PLA-2000 davits.

This is a 2 ton SWL davit for launching and retrieving small boats up to sea state 3. The davit will be skid mounted for easy installation on board the Coast Guard’s class of Ice Breaking Tugs.

Sales Manager Atle Kalve said, “The US Coast Guard have real offshore boat-handling needs which Vestdavit can meet. We have been in discussions for a long time and I hope this first order will mark the start of a long and positive business relation between USCG and Vestdavit”

The first davit will be delivered in late 2013.
