The 73-meter-long vessel has completed its upgrading phase at the shipyard Viana do Castelo in Spain, and is now in Vigo at ACSM’s headquarters completing the last fittings.

According to the company, after the installation of its new gondola, equipped with a Kongsberg EM124 multibeam echo sounder, Nautilus will be able to perform high-quality, real-time seabed surveys, with a minimum sound impact on the environment and with applications as diverse as priority for the subsea sector.

Nautilus is expected to be operational from next March.

The vessel was built in 2001 by the Appledore Shipyard, Devon, UK, and is permanently equipped with WROVs, trenching machines and survey equipment. It offers accommodation for 44 persons.
