UPDATE: Yemen LNG fully operational, maintenance completed

Yemen LNG, the operator of the country’s only liquefaction plant, said that the facility is fully operational.

Yemen LNG confirms that it is fully operational in Sana’a and Balhaf with plant operations, including LNG exports, continuing as normal,” the company said in a statement on Friday without providing any additional information.

However, when contacted by LNG World News asking whether this statement has to do anything with a planned maintenance shutdown, the company said that “this was a response to some incorrect local media reports that Yemen LNG’s operations had stopped.”

Our planned maintenance shutdown was successfully completed in the first half of September,” Yemen LNG said in an e-mail response.

The Yemen LNG project, which consists of two liquefaction trains with a total capacity of 6.7 Mtpa, has three long-term contracts to supply LNG to GDF Suez, Kogas and Total Gas & Power.
