Ultra Deep Solutions sheds more light on Van Gogh vessel charter

Ultra Deep Solutions has revealed the name of the client for the recently announced 5-year charter deal for its Van Gogh diving support construction vessel.

The offshore vessel owner initially informed of the contract for the Van Gogh in the first week of December, without giving out the identity of the client. UDS has now revealed the Van Gogh has been hired by Malaysia’s Red Tech Offshore.

The 114 meters long and 23 meters wide vessel will support Red Tech in decommissioning and subsea programs around the region. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

UDS, founded in 2014 by Sheldon Hutton, has previously said that the Van Gogh, being built in China, should be completed in May 2018.

The DSCV Van Gogh is a DNV-GL classed vessel which comes with an 18 men 300 msw Saturation system, Twin 18 men SPHLs, 120 POB, 150 t AHC crane to 3000 msw, built in DNV-GL Air Diving system, 2 x WROV in hangars that can work in 3000 msw and the vessel has over 19,000 HP.
