Ultra Deep Solutions scoops 4-year deal for Picasso DSCV

Ultra Deep Solutions has entered into a four-year contract for the diving support and construction vessel (DSCV) Picasso.

Ultra Deep Solutions said via social media channels on Thursday that the Marin Teknikk-designed Picasso would be loaded with two WROV’s in Singapore before beginning the contract in the Americas in the first quarter of 2018.

The vessel is not yet completed and, according to the data available on the company’s website, Ultra Deep expects the Picasso to be delivered in the first quarter of 2018. As for other newbuilds, the company expects the Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, and the Ultra Deep Matisse DSCVs to be delivered in 2Q 2018, 3Q 2018, and 1Q 2019, respectively.

The Picasso is a DNV-GL DP2 and comes with an 18-man twin diving bell as well as with two self-propelled hyperbaric lifeboats (SPHL). The vessel comes with a 140 tonnes AHC crane to 3,000 msw.

This DSCV is the sister ship of Ultra Deep’s Lichtenstein vessel and has a length of 120 meters and a 25-meter beam with a back deck of 1,300 square meters.

It is worth reminding that the company recently entered into a five-year contract for the DSCV Van Gogh. The name of the client was revealed last week, when Ultra Deep Solutions  said that the Van Gogh was hired by Malaysia’s Red Tech Offshore.
