UK’s Nuclear, Renewables Companies Join to Support Green Power

More than 1,000 nuclear and renewables companies have signed a letter addressed to David Cameron, George Osborne and Ed Davey, urging them to agree on a legally binding decarbonisation target for electricity generation, The Independent informs.

Fear that the Government could support gas has led to joining of forces of the UK’s nuclear, wind and tidal industries for a mutual cause for the first time. What is more, the Greenpeace backed this move, although it is opposing nuclear power.

The Government will discuss the Energy Bill at a meeting later this week, after the one scheduled for last week was cancelled due to disagreements on the Bill.
