3sun Group Creates 100 Offshore Wind Jobs

3sun Group announces today the creation of 100 new jobs in response to growing demand for its products and services across the UK and Europe.

The company will increase manpower within its technical teams, supplementing the number of local technicians within the Great Yarmouth area and across the UK. 3sun is also recruiting for highly experienced personnel for international projects.

3sun Group comprises 3sun, a supplier of instrument and control products and services, 3sun Inspection Services which offers a full range of equipment inspection and testing services in the energy sector, Dawson Energy, an industry leader in delivering installation, and maintenance services for wind turbines, and 3sun Academy, a specialist provider of technical and vocational training across the UK and Europe.

Graham Hacon, managing director of 3sun Group said: “The high quality services provided, along with a growing awareness in the full range of products and services we deliver, has resulted in increased demand from our clients to provide technicians across the UK and abroad.

“We plan on recruiting 100 individuals to our technical teams focusing on the wind turbine area of the business, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pre-assemble, installation and cabling engineers.”

3sun Group works with the ex-forces and construction workers to help up-skill and re-train people of all ages to help create a larger, well-trained pool of technicians serving the oil and gas and renewables industry. To fill the new positions the Group will therefore be taking on highly trained engineers from the Navy, Army and Air Forces, giving individuals the opportunity to develop a career in a different industry following a very challenging career in the Military.

Mr Hacon continued: “In the last five years the business has expanded rapidly and to accommodate our growth plans, we invested £500,000 in the development of our new headquarters in Great Yarmouth. We currently have 200 people operating out of our Great Yarmouth office and the new facility provides us with the capacity to increase our staff numbers to 300. Bolstering our workforce will put us in a strong position to attract and secure further contracts, generating benefits for the local economy and supporting employment in the area.”

3sun Group is currently working on several projects in the UK and Europe. The Group has extensive overseas experience in Europe, Asia, Africa, USA and New Zealand.

3sun Group has headquarters in Great Yarmouth, England, and also bases in Oban, Aberdeen and in Bergen, Norway and Esbjerg, Denmark to support on-going rapid growth. It is also currently looking at other UK and overseas locations.
