UAE: Wartsila to Showcase at ADIPEC

Wartsila to Showcase at ADIPEC

Wärtsilä, the marine industry’s leading solutions and services provider, will be showcasing its innovative and high-technology products and systems for customers in the oil and gas industry at ADIPEC 2013. Wärtsilä brings valuable and unique experience across the whole oil and gas value chain. By consistently developing and improving its offering for this growth sector, Wärtsilä enhances efficiency and environmental footprint in the production and transportation of oil and gas.

Wärtsilä will be participating for the first time in ADIPEC, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, from 10 to 13 November, 2013. Also present at the event is Wärtsilä’s established Valves brand, which has demonstrated its pumps and valves capabilities in past ADIPEC events as part of the Hamworthy brand.

“The oil and gas industry is constantly innovating and improving. However, participants are wary about the costs that come with adopting new technologies or implementing solutions that have a positive impact on the environment, but which naturally put pressure on earnings,” said Seppo Hautajoki, Managing Director of Wärtsilä Arab Emirates and Vice President of Services for the Gulf region. “We will showcase our comprehensive portfolio of products, solutions and services that will enable current and potential customers to meet the challenges facing the Middle East energy industry.”

Wärtsilä experts at ADIPEC 2013 will discuss industry-leading offerings, including:

Wärtsilä GasReformer The Wärtsilä GasReformer
The Wärtsilä GasReformer addresses the common challenges of gas, including low methane content and number, fluctuating gas quality and the presence of higher hydrocarbons. By converting higher hydrocarbons in natural or associated gas to increase fuel gas’ Methane Number, the GasReformer improves the Wärtsilä DualFuel engine’s performance and fuel flexibility. The main potential of the Wärtsilä GasReformer is in offshore applications, including converting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) captured from crude oil, and associated gas from drilling and production platforms and FPSOs, to a stable fuel.

Wärtsilä 34DF engine The Wärtsilä 34DF engine
With environmental impact and the compliance with emission regulations in controlled areas becoming a key concern for ship operators, there is a need for solutions that are compliant with IMO, SOx and EPA regulations. Since 2003, the Wärtsilä 34DF has paved the way in the LNG-fuelled offshore support vessel market. Today, this product is being mainly used in tugs, ferries, Ro-Ro, Ro-Pax and workboats. The innovative flexibility of Dual-Fuel engines enables ships to run on gas or liquid fuel. While reducing different emissions in considerable quantities, Wärtsilä Dual-Fuel engines also reduce capital and operating expenditures, bringing cost efficiencies to operations.

Pumps and Valves
Wärtsilä offers a wide range of pumps and valves solutions for the offshore market, including FPSO, FSO and FLNG vessels, drill ships, rigs and OSVs. With centers of excellence in Denmark and Singapore, Wärtsilä delivers environmentally sound pump solutions for the marine, oil & gas and petrochemical industries. Wärtsilä counts oil majors, operators, designers and shipyards as clients of its pumping solutions.

Electrical & Automation
Wärtsilä Ship Power covers all key segments with a uniform and integrated solution that includes automation systems, and power electric systems. Wärtsilä’s Electrical & Automation offering comes as a complete package that ensures anoptimally tuned system onboard vessels, reducing the risk of bad performance and blackouts. The Wärtsilä power management system has many advanced options, including control of the patented Wärtsilä Low Loss Concept (LLC) that increases efficiency by reducing distribution losses, increases the energy availability, is safe and reliable, and also saves space and installation costs.
