UAE: Keel Laying Ceremony for FNG’s New Aluminum Crew Boats

Grandweld Shipyards has celebrated the keel laying of the two new 33.5m Aluminum Crew Boats for Fujairah National Group (FNG) on 12th July 2012.

The keel laying ceremony was attended by FNG representatives HE.Sheik Ahmad (Son of Fujairah Ruler), Mr. Saif Al Salami, Mr. Sami Al-Baghdadi, Mr. Sanjeev Sarin, and representatives from Bureau Veritas. The vessels are designed as a triple screw, high speed offshore crew boats operating in an offshore limit with a seating capacity for 50 offshore personnel.

The vessels are designed to have a speed reaching in excess of 25 knots in light ship condition.

Major design features of the vessels include:

• Speed of 25knots @16 ton dead weight
• 50 offshore personnel seating capacity
• Low noise levels & vibration onboard
• High sea worthiness and passenger comfort.
• Excellent sea keeping quality , including good stability
• High end finish exterior design

The two vessels are scheduled for delivery end April & May 2013 respectively.
