With its 77 metres in height, it is gradually becoming highly visible. The height makes this one of the most complex installations in the project.

The hoist was carried out in a good and safe manner. We are very satisfied,” says Project Manager Kjetil V. Jacobsen.

Preparations for the operation were thorough. Among other things, a trial hoist was carried out the day before to ensure that the installation would proceed as smoothly as possible. From the start of the hoist it took five and a half hours until the new module was installed.

Now work will start on welding the living quarters to the platform deck. We are fully focused on completing all disciplines on the platform,” the project manager says.

The hoist of the living quarters marks a milestone in the project, which is a collaboration between Aibel and ABB. When the platform is completed, it will be installed in a major wind park in the German sector in the North Sea. There it will convert alternating current from wind turbines to direct current before sending it onshore.
