U.S. weekly offshore rig count stuck at 22

The number of active offshore rigs in the U.S. remained unchanged at 22 units for the second week running, according to weekly rig count reports released on Wednesday by Baker Hughes.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. -1 to 802 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 1 rig from last week to 802, with oil rigs down 3 to 668, gas rigs up 2 to 131, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 3.

U.S. Rig Count is down 274 rigs from last year’s count of 1,076, with oil rigs down 219, gas rigs down 58, and miscellaneous rigs up 3 to 3.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 22 and down 1 rig year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -11 rigs to 126 rigs

Canada Rig Count is down 11 rigs from last week to 126, with oil rigs down 9 to 77 and gas rigs down 2 to 49.

Canada Rig Count is down 73 rigs from last year’s count of 199, with oil rigs down 42 and gas rigs down 31.


The North America rig count is usually announced on the last working day of each week but due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. this week, the weekly North America rig count was released on Wednesday, November 27.
