U.S. weekly offshore rig count slips to 23

The number of offshore rigs in the U.S. slipped to 23 units over the last week, according to weekly rig count reports released by Baker Hughes on Friday, December 27.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. -8 to 805 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 8 rigs from last week to 805, with oil rigs down 8 to 677, gas rigs unchanged at 125, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 3.

U.S. Rig Count is down 278 rigs from last year’s count of 1,083, with oil rigs down 208, gas rigs down 73, and miscellaneous rigs up 3 to 3.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 to 23 and down 1 year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -50 rigs to 99 rigs

Canada Rig Count is down 50 rigs from last week to 99, with oil rigs down 36 to 52 and gas rigs down 14 to 47.

Canada Rig Count is up 29 rigs from last year’s count of 70, with oil rigs up 37 and gas rigs down 8.
