U.S. offshore rig count stable at 12 units

The number of active rigs in the U.S. remained unchanged over the course of last week, according to a weekly rig count report by Baker Hughes.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. +10 to 320 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 10 from last week to 320 with oil rigs up 10 to 241, gas rigs up 1 to 77, and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 2.

U.S. Rig Count is down 482 rigs from last year’s count of 802, with oil rigs down 427, gas rigs down 54 and miscellaneous rigs down 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 12, down 10 year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada +1 rigs to 102 rigs.

Canada Rig Count is up 1 from last week to 102, with oil rigs down 4 to 38, gas rigs up 5 to 64.

Canada Rig Count is down 24 rigs from last year’s count of 126, with oil rigs down 39, gas rigs up 15.

It is worth noting that Baker Hughes published this week’s rig count on Wednesday instead of Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, 26 November.
